When I finally finished school, I never planned to substitute. I just always thought that I would get a classroom right away. The thought never crossed my mind that state budget cuts would mean NO TEACHING JOBS. Substitute teaching is a great experience and I am learning so much about schools, kids and teaching. In some ways, I am grateful that I didn't get a regular job this year. Of course my bank account doesn't agree.

Wonderopolis - A Wonder a Day - Free Resource
Wonderopolis is a free website with a different wonder everyday. They have a topic and information related to the topic. These would be great quick little lessons to start out a day in a classroom or to fill some time.
